Manuals for Cerlist Diesel Engines
Cerlist engines were originally built by Cerlist Diesel of Burlington, North Carolina to a design of the Austrian engineer Dr. Hans List. They were a valveless 2-stroke loop scavenged engine with the option of a Roots blower to boost horsepower. The Cerlist could run on both #1 and #2 diesel as wells as JP-4 jet fuel and gasoline with no tuning changes.
The 3-cylinder version was used in the military Willys model FC-170 Jeep. The company was acquired by Waukesha Motors in 1963 and production was shifted to Clinton, Iowa, before ceasing in 1973.
The List design of loop scavenged diesels were also built by Turner Manufacturing in England, Alfa Romeo in Italy, Ford in Germany and Jenbacher Werke of Austria.
